Everything You Need to Know Before Your Imaging Appointment.

General Questions

1. What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring your photo ID, insurance card, referral (if applicable), and any relevant medical records. If you have implants or medical devices, let our team know ahead of time.

For most X-ray and MRI exams, eating and drinking is allowed. If your exam requires any restrictions, we’ll let you know when you schedule.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing without metal. You may be asked to change into a gown depending on the scan area.

At Marc Imaging Group, we’ve made a deliberate decision not to accept insurance so we can offer patients a faster, more convenient experience. By operating outside of traditional insurance networks, we eliminate the delays and restrictions often caused by pre-authorizations and plan limitations.

Instead, we offer a fair, transparent self-pay rate—no hidden fees, no waiting for approvals. This allows you to get the MRI or X-ray you need today or on your timeline, not the insurance company’s.

You’re in pain now—don’t let insurance hold you back from getting answers. We’re here to help you move forward without the red tape.

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a companion, but depending on the scan type, they may be asked to wait outside the exam room.

MRI-Specific Questions

1. Is MRI safe?

Yes—MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves, not radiation. It’s a safe, noninvasive way to capture detailed images of soft tissues and organs.

We use an Open Bore MRI scanner designed to feel more spacious. If you’re still concerned, talk to us about sedation options.

It depends on the type of implant. Be sure to tell us in advance about any devices, so we can evaluate safety and adjust the protocol if needed.

At Marc Imaging Group, we’ve carefully weighed the pros and cons of contrast-enhanced MRI studies and have made the decision not to perform contrast MRIs at our facility. Our focus is on providing fast, affordable, high-quality non-contrast imaging.

However, if your provider determines that contrast is medically necessary,
we’re happy to assist by connecting you with one of our trusted partner imaging centers who can perform the study. We’ll help coordinate the referral so you can continue your care without added stress.

In the past, most MRI exams could take anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour. At Marc Imaging Group, we’ve invested in advanced imaging software and upgraded technology that significantly reduces scan times without compromising image quality.

Thanks to these innovations,
most of our MRI exams are completed in 20 minutes or less, allowing for a faster, more comfortable experience—so you can get in, get answers, and get back to your day.

X-Ray Specific Questions

1. Are X-rays safe?

Yes—X-rays use low levels of radiation and are considered safe for diagnostic use. We use modern equipment to minimize exposure even further.

Usually, no prep is required. You may be asked to remove jewelry or metal objects from the area being scanned.

If you’re pregnant or think you might be, let us know before your exam. We’ll consult with your provider to determine the best course of care.

The scan itself is very fast. Most patients are in and out in just a few steps, with minimal wait and no recovery time needed.

We send results promptly to your referring provider after the scan is reviewed by our radiology team.
